The dry chicken curry is simply deliciousNasi Kandar Boroi

Great nasi kandar  - but operated by Langkawi Malays and not the usual Indian-
Muslims. The food, nevertheless, is delicious if not even better than the Indian-Muslim version.
Upgraded from the formerly make-shift stall now shares the same compound as a car wash and auto accessories shop.

Boroi Nasi Kandar serves up mean curries, including the highly recommended spicy masak kicap sotong (whole squid in chili soy sauce), curried prawns, ayam masak hitam (goes well with nasi kandar), beef curry and much more. A specialty almost non-existent at other nasi kandar outlets is the freshly-cooked gulai kawah (beef parts in curry). The restaurant is clean and airy (no walls!) Best time to go just about noon before 12.00, when you'll be served freshly-cooked curries. No service for about an hour around 1 p.m. on Fridays due prayers.

Authentic malay dishes at MatahariMatahari Malay Restaurant

Set amongst a lush tropical garden, you can choose to dine under the stars or try the Matahari  authentic cultural ambience with a specially created floor area - the 'Anjung' and dine sitting cross-legged on rustic mats.
