You can select your choice of fresh seafood and have it cook to your liking. Prices reasonable.  Specialises in southern Thai Malay cuisine as well as Malaysian favourites -- so Thai that most of the staff communicate in Thai. They still get by with English, though. Cendol Pulut Kak Bedah

Cendol Kak BedahMoved from its original site near the Mata Air junction to Kg Bayas, this restaurant now sits right besides the 'Langkawi Highway' towards Kuah.' Still the basic, spartan rural Malay warung-style restaurant, Kak Bedah's popular cendol pulut keeps pulling in the crowd. Once featured in a local English magazine, which wrote about the cordiality of the owner and her Malay cooking skills. Don't expect any embellishments here. Its all about partaking of a slice of rural Langkawi life and its down-to-earth style. No pretensions.  The new restaurant overlooks an abandoned padi land at the back.

Opening hours:
9.00 am to 6.00 pm
Tel : 012-520 3415

Location:
Kg Bayas, near Gamat Nusantara across the road (shifted from the old location at Jalan Mata Air).

Favourites:
  • Cendol Pulut
  • Very kampung style cooking
