Hameed's

Hameed's is located at the Kuah Jetty Mall. A basic Indian-Muslim restaurant within the air-conditioned ambiance of the complex, it serves rice, noodles and roti canai with a selection of curries. The made-to-order nasi goreng daging (beef fried rice) is delicious.Fried noodles mamak-style also popular. Can get quite crowded with passengers waiting to board the ferries and car rental touts.

Restoran Nazir Idris

This unassuming restaurant serves good nasi kandar (the ever-popular Penang Indian-Muslim style cuisine). Quite secluded among the small shops opposite the car park. Popular among locals. Few photographs of the proprietor with the former Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad hang on the wall.

Almaz Restaurant

A basic Indian-Muslim restaurant serving a modest range of curries, briyani, fast-fried noodles, fried rice, roti canai, etc. Probably the only low-end restaurant within the Telaga Harbour precinct.

Tomato Nasi Kandar

Tomato is located in the middle of the Pantai Chenang beach thoroughfare. The first floor section of the restaurant is air-conditioned but only open when downstairs is full. About 30 dishes daily comrprising chicken, mutton, fish and beef. Speciality is nasi tomato. Popular in the evenings as prices are reasonable.
 

Oasis on the Beach

Although not specialising in Indian cuisine, Oasis, nevertheless serves some great Indian dishes, including briyani and naan. Good serving, great beach ambiance - right on the sandy beach. come early as tables get taken up fast.
