Located on the beautiful sands of Pantai Tengah between The Lighthouse Restaurant and Holiday Villa Langkawi Resort, Charlie Motel was at one time a favourite destination of young backpackers and local tourists wishing for an affordable beachfront accommodation.

Basic and yet clean and comfortable, Charlie Motel offers peace and quiet that is in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of Pantai Chenang. The muted ambiance is attributed to the buffer zones on both sides of the resort -- both comprising nothing but a wide expanse of barren beach ground and shady vegetation.

The immediate beachfront with its powdery-white sand is just the place to spend the late afternoons and evenings. Even sitting on the restaurant promenade with its swaying casuarinas and coconut trees is  an experience in itself. Hard to believe, you say, but its true as Charlie Motel is not about crowds and noise. Except for people strolling along the beach in the evenings, most times you will yourself a quiet corner.

Charlie Motel is suitable for families on a modest budget and budget-conscious holiday makers. The much sought-after premium beachfront chalets have been been given a much needed makeover and now sports six detached chalets with ensuite bathrooms/shower.

Each wooden chalet has two single beds, air-conditioning, mini fridge, hot shower, TV, and balcony to laze away the hours. Three chalets are directly facing the sea, and these are much sought-after. Advance bookings are highly recommended. Standard rooms come with air-conditioning and TV.

The kitchen (restaurant) dishes out a wide range of delicious Thai and authentic Malay style cuisines. A popular option is for guests to source fresh seafood from fishermen, the wet markets, or even to catch the fish yourself and request the kitchen to serve-up according to your preference. A nominal charge is levied for cooking services. This is, indeed, a great way to partake of fresh Langkawi seafood - an option hard to come by at other places.

Charlie Motel now offers Wi-Fi Internet accessible via prepaid cards. The cards can be purchased from the motel front office.

Being located right on the beach, sea-based recreational activities is, of course, an irresistible option. Charlie Motel will readily accommodate all available sea activities - from island hopping, fishing trips, sunset cruise, and kayaking, among others.

A specialty: Charlie Motel has a tie-up with a health clinic, whereby recuperating patients are offered special packages. This 'health tourism' package can also accommodate guests with regular requirements for kidney dialysis.

If your preference for a quiet Langkawi holiday break is not all about a lavish and over-luxurious stay at a frilly star-studded resort, Charlie Motel may just be the answer. The excitement of the Pantai Chenang beach thoroughfare with its closely-packed bars, bistros, souvenir shops and beauty spas is just a 10 minutes walk away.
