This outfit operates out of Langkawi's Telaga Harbour as well as Penang. It offers  island hopping, sunset cruises and yacht charters that cover as far north as the southern islands of Thailand on the Kayu Manis - a traditional 75-foot Pinsi yacht.

The yacht sleeps eight in four double cabins. The guest quarters and crew quarters each has its own air-conditioning setting with individual bathroom and shower attached. The galley and saloon area are equipped with dining table for eight, a refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, sink and coffeemaker. Elsewhere, a comfortable settee makes a nice hangout inside. For entertainment on rainy days or cool nights there is a flat-screen TV which also can be viewed from the stern deck. The wheelhouse has the original mahogany ship's wheel with a brass rim, hydraulic steering and the latest in electronic navigational systems.

Rebak Marina Resort

If you want to haul out and spend weeks or months or years working on your boat, the hardstand here is one of the nicest places to do it. The resort is located on its own island, and the hardstand, wrapped around the lagoon, is relaxed and quiet, with adjacent toilets, showers and cruiser restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff and the community of sailors close-knit and welcoming. Several sailors have lived on the hard there for years. Travel lift for boats up to 65 tonnes and beam of 8.2 metres. Two-way haul out RM32/foot, plus 20 percent for keel depth exceeding 2.5 metres. Pressure wash RM2/foot (RM3 for catamarans), plus RM1/foot for badly fouled hulls. Boat stand RM50, scaffolding RM85, ladder RM30, crane hire RM300/hour. Unlike the wet berths, water and electricity are metered. Rebak does not offer yacht repair services. Several private contractors on site.

WaveMaster Langkawi Yacht Centre

Located near Tanjung Lembong, WaveMaster provides full super yacht and mega yacht repair and refit facilities. Minimum depth of seven metres at low tide. Two travelifts, 140 tons and 500 tons. Some 17,000 square metres of hardstand area. Behind hardstand are two fully insulated and ventilated hangers, each 70x25 metres and 24 metres high, with reinforced concrete slab floors with 800-ton capacity. Two overhead remote-controlled gantry cranes with hoist capacity of five tons each. Adjoining carpentry, aluminum, electrical and mechanical workshops, each with individual overhead remote-controlled gantry cranes with hoist capacity of 1.5 tons. Staff naval architects and engineers will design for new builds, conversions, and major overhauls, backed up by design team at WaveMaster head office in Australia. Also has berthing for yachts of 13-70 metres, with fresh water, three-phase shore power and telecommunications. Petrol and diesel available. Lockers, washrooms, showers, chandlery, supermarket, and 24-hour security. Charter service includes luxury power and sailing yachts from 27 to 48 metres.

Langkawi Fair, Kuah

Good supermarket located at the Langkawi Fair shopping complex, a short walk from the ferry terminal on the road to Kuah. Convenient if you are berthed at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club marina. Wide selection of liquor, beer and wine though prices a little higher than elsewhere. Mall has shops selling shoes, garments, jewellery, computer software, cameras, and the usual variety of shops. There is also a McDonald's outlet.

Padang Mat Sirat

More of a modest warehouse-style hypermarket. Located about 800 metres from main intersection in Padang Mat Sirat on the road to Kuah. Small section next to checkout devoted to imported foods. Next door is a bulk wholesaler where cases of beer can be purchased very cheaply.

McPhee's Produce

Variety of fruits and vegetables imported from Australia. Family has its own market garden in Western Australia, the produce flown direct to Langkawi twice weekly, arriving 30 hours after being picked. Also has imported meat (portioned and vacuum packed), cheese, yoghurt, fruit juice, fresh herbs, and packaged food. Primary business is supplying better hotels, but yacht crew welcomed and some items stocked just for them, including used books. Location: Airport area, about 300 metres north of turnoff to the the Rebak Jetty.
